Roll is the main consuming process part of the rolling mill. It consumes a large amount in the process of steel rolling, accounting for a certain proportion of the rolling cost. Roll quality has a great impact on the operation rate, quality, output and roll consumption of the rolling mill, so most rolls use high alloy and the unit price is very high.
The roller mainly consumes the working layer with a certain depth on the surface. The radius direction of the working layer of the large backup roller is about 100mm, and the radius direction of the large working roller is generally 50mm. The weight of the working layer does not account for a large proportion of the weight of the roller.
Under normal circumstances, when the roll is used to the scrapping limit (i.e. the working layer is consumed) or there are major defects, the roll will be scrapped as a whole, and the roll core will be treated as scrap, which has a great impact on the cost.
Roll repair is to repair the working layer, usually by surfacing. When the roll is used to the scrap limit or there are large defects, surfacing is used to repair the working layer.
In this way, the roll core can be reused, which can greatly reduce the roll consumption and production cost.
For local damage on the surface of rubber roller, firstly repair the damaged part into an easy to repair shape with a knife, then file the surface to be repaired with a wooden file, and then clean the defect with cleaning agent (generally pure gasoline, i.e. No. 97 gasoline), and apply the pre prepared adhesive after it is dry; In addition, heat the "raw rubber" of the same quality as the rubber roller without vulcanization treatment to make it plastic, then fill the defect with the supplement and compact it (slightly protruding from the roller surface), and then heat it properly and evenly on the spacer (arc-shaped bronze plate) with an electric soldering iron or iron to make the "raw rubber" mature (vulcanized) and fuse with the rubber layer on the roller surface. The heating temperature depends on the rubber surface hardness and defect depth of the rubber roller (generally 140-180 degrees), and the heating time is 30-120min; After the supplementary material is cured and cooled, file it with a knife and wood file, repair it flat and smooth, and then reuse it.
The preparation of adhesive is to dissolve the homogenous raw rubber to be repaired in toluene, add 12% rosin (for glue), and stir evenly.
